Paint Creek began as brother-duo Eric and Alec Poore in 2020. Playing private parties and the local pub in their hometown of Williamsburg, Kentucky, led to the brothers beginning to gather a quiet following for their strong vocals and distinctive family harmonies.
"Paint Creek" - the band's debut EP - consists of songs written during the early stages of the brothers' songwriting careers, reflecting on the stories of heartbreak and kinship that shaped their perspectives on life and navigating the world.
"We're often asked why we chose to call ourselves Paint Creek. Up a holler in the hills of Southeast Kentucky there’s a little mountain stream called Paint Creek. Over the years, it carved out a patch of land big enough to live on, and our great-grandparents eventually settled on its banks and started a family. Four generations of our folks have called the Creek home since that time.
We have the good fortune to be a part of that bloodline, which has produced a number of gifted singers, musicians, and songwriters, including our mother, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as our late grandparents. We have always counted ourselves lucky to have been born into a family with such talent. The impact they have had on us is immense.
In choosing a name for ourselves, we wanted to honor that tradition. Today, Paint Creek is a biproduct of many musical influences, including southern gospel, bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, classic and modern country, and classic and southern rock. These are our roots, and we are so fortunate to have the opportunity to share them with you with the help of the incredible musicians who have come along on this musical journey with us. We hope to continue doing so for years to come and appreciate your continued support."
